Katatonia - Night is the New Day

Sat Nov 14, 2009, 1:29 AM
...is F#$%ing amazing! Absolutely brilliant album! It may have actually bumped Baroness - Blue Record out of the top spot for my album of the year vote. Swallow the Sun - New Moon comes out next week and I just ordered Ahab - The Divinity of Oceans, so it's still a tight race. Mastodon - Crack the Skye will probably round out my top 5 for 2009.

I just traded up to a near mint used 2006 Takahashi NJP Temma II EQ mount [link] for my astrophotography, and I'm selling off some old gear to help finance it. This mount is a tank (55 lbs EQ head weight, 70 lbs payload capacity) and I should finally stop spending money on upgrades as the next step up in mounts is in the $10-15K range and well outside what I can see myself paying for gear at this point in my life.

That's all for now.

I bow to your work and your knowledge of Astronomy. I hope to study this subject in college at some point, and reading your descriptions is a delight.

Thank you! I try to keep as concise as possible with descriptions, but it's pretty obvious that I geek out on this stuff. The moment you realize what you are looking at - when the scale of the universe beyond our one tiny planet can be glimpsed fleetingly - is an amazing feeling, and I try to convey that as best I can.

Great! Very valuable work.

Hello! I'd like to request if I may use your Orion Nebula Complex piece on my piece of art. I have my piece up here. Please let me know asap if I can or not. I will remove your piece from my art if you do not wish so. At the current moment, my credit to you is still on that piece for the nebula.

Not a problem. I'm cool with most people using my pics if they ask and put a link to me in the comments.

Great work by the way!
